Hello 4th grade students!

This week we are rehearshing a short tale about Halloween. The characters in this short tale are: a girl and her friend, the parents, a wicked witch and of course, the narrator. We are planning to explain the tale to the little children of P5. It will be great fun!

The wicked witch

Narrator: There was once a little girl who was very wilful and who never obeyed when her elders spoke to her – so how could she be happy? One day she was with her friend and said to her parents.
GIRL: I am very bored today. What can I do?
FRIEND: Today is Halloween, maybe we can go and visit the witch and play trick or treat with her.
GIRL: People say she is a magic woman. I’m very scared!
FRIEND: No, let’s go I want to see her!!’
Narrator: But her parents didn’t want her to go and they said:
PARENTS: Don’t go to see the witch, she is dangerous.

Narrator: The girls, however, went to the witch’s house. They walked through the forest and finally they got to the house and knocked on the door. (knock, knock) The witch asked them:
WITCH: Hello! What do you need?
GIRLS: Hello!
WITCH: You look scared! Why?
GIRL:’Ah!. (She replied, trembling all over) – I’m scared! What’s this? Is this a black bat?
WITCH: – This? Hahahaha this was a boy who came here to play trick or treat.

FRIEND: Oh, I’m scared too. What’s this? Is this a black spider?
WITCH: – This? Hahahaha this was a boy who came here to play trick or treat.

GIRL: Oh, I’m scared! What’s this? Is this a pumpkin?
WITCH: – This? Hahahaha this was a girl who came here to play trick or treat.

FRIEND: Oh, I’m scared! Look at all these black cats! (here all P5 children will be wearing their cats masks and will say –meow-)
WITCH: Hahahhaha! These are the children who came here to see this show! They are cats now!! (children say –meow, meow-)
GIRLS (girl & friend): Oh help! Let’s go! Run, run , run … (they run, but the witch runs after them and uses her magic cane and everybody will sing the Halloween song: “Halloween, Halloween, this is Halloween!”).
WITCH: Now you will also be cats forever! (the girls scream and put on their cats masks and meow).

We have contacted a school in the United Kingdom (UK) named Townsend Primary School (London).
Our school is preparing a short presentation to send them together with pictures of the students. We are going to be friends! It will be great fun!
