Types of humour:
- black humour: jokes about death and other serious issues
- cartoons: Tom and Jerry
- exaggeration: saying something is much more than it is (for comic effect in this context)
- farce: a series of things go wrong, and the situation gets funnier and funnier
- farce [f?:s] nombre farsa: the holiday was a complete farce from beginning to end, las vacaciones fueron un sinsentido del principio al fin
- irony: not saying exactly what you mean, or saying the opposite of what you mean
- puns: word play humorous play on words;
- “I do it for the pun of it”; “his constant punning irritated her”
- satire: laughing at politicians and “importan” people
- surreal: bizarre, very strange humour
