QUALITY OF LIFE

How much time do we have to eat and play each day?

Children have 2 hours to have lunch and to play every midday.

Els nens disposen cada migdia de 2 hores per menjar i jugar.

Are we often too noise? (playground, dining room, classroom)

There is usually a lot of noise in the dinning room. We must improve that.

Sovint hi ha massa soroll al menjador. Hem de millorar.

Do we eat healthyly at school?

Yes, the menus are controlled by the Healthy Department of La Generalitat de Catalunya.

Sí, els menús els aprova el Departament de Salut de la Generalitat de Catalunya.

Are our play areas a natural, healthy environment?

Yes, we have a playground with grass, trees, some areas with plants and flowers and also a school’s garden.

ENERGY

What types of energy are used at school?

Nowadays: diesel oil and electricity.
Actualment: gas-oil i electricitat.

Do we know the school electricity consumption?

The consumption brought for year (2004) is aproximately:
E. electricity company: 31626 KWh
Gas-oil: 9240 liters

El consum aproximat per any (2004) és:
E. elèctrica – 31626 KWh
Gas-oil – 9240 litres

How do you come to school?

We come to school on foot. The majority of the children and workers of the center come to school on foot.

WASTE

Is the waste separated at school? If yes, where are they thrawn?

We have all the dependences of wastebaskets for: paper, packings and waste in the school. We also have for organic matter, batteries, glass and computer material in the playground and the corridors. The environmental watchmen have a look if everyone takes care of the recycling in the playground.

A l’escola disposem, a totes les dependències de papereres per: paper, envasos, resta. Al pati i/o als passadissos, més a més, en tenim per a matèria orgànica, piles, vidre i material informàtic.
Al pati els vigilants ambientals tenen cura del reciclatge.

What are the different types of waste out at school?

The same ones.
Els mateixos.

Where does the waste go?

It can go: To The dump of garbage, to the floor of compostage (organic matter) or to the deixalleria. La Seu is a pioneering city of recycling.

Pot anar:
A l’abocador d’escombraries, a la planta de compostatge (matèria orgànica) o bé a la deixalleria.
La Seu és una ciutat pionera en reciclatge.

Is paper totally used before being?

We have trays with paper to reuse in all the classrooms, but we think we have a lot to do yet to reduce the consumption of paper. As an aim we have started weighing the paper that we bring to the container by foot every week.

A totes les aules disposem de safates amb paper per reutilitzar, però hem, de treballar més encara per reduir el consum de paper. Amb aquesta finalitat hem començat a pesar el paper que, setmanalment portem al contenidor del carrer.

WATER

Where does the liquid waste go?

The liquid waste goes to the sewage and It goes to Montferrer’s filter system too. It is the principal industry of La Seu, dairy Cooperative of the Cadi. It has its own filter system.

Where does the water from the taps come?

The water that we use in our houses comes from a captation to the river d’Estamariu (neighboring municipality). We also have wells in La Seu D’Urgell.

A La Seu d’Urgell l’aigua que utilitzem a les llars prové d’una captació al riu d’Estamariu (municipi veí), també disposem de pous.

What is the water consumption at school?

We cannot know it because we have not enough book-keepers. Anyhow, we have worked for reducing the consumption: faucets and temporized toilets for the last years. We did an estimation of the consumption: 3000 meters cubic / year. That was in 2005.

No el podem saber per manca de comptadors. De totes maneres els darrers anys hem treballat per reduir-ne el consum: aixetes i WC temporalitzats.
L’any 2005 es va fer una estimació del consum: 3000 metres cúbics/any.

THE EUROPEAN PROJECT CORNER

We are going to create a corner in which we will have the important information of the countries that participate in this project.

During this progress we will make some different pictures that will represent each state.

We are going to make a video to show the progress during the year. At the end of the year, we are going to have a laptop in this corner in which students will be able to watch the progress. To finish we are going to create a story related to the Project.
