Here a summary about some of the activities we have done within the year:

Students are asked to open their fridge and to take pictures of their eggs. From these pictures we will start the subject: we will learn the meaning of the code, we will discuss if it’s better to put the eggs in the fridge or not, we will learn about Salmonella, we will discuss about the welfare of the hens, we will study the anatomy of the eggs and the birds, …

After studying the meaning of the eggs’ code, the students try to answer these questions:
How was the hen breed?
What country is your egg from?
What province was your egg laid in?
SCAFFOLDING:
The first number of my egg is ….. and this means that the hen that laid my egg lived … and could/couldn’t ….
My egg is from….
My egg was laid in the province of…
