Background:
In Nazilli we started to talk about motivation factors. Today you are going to talk more about this issue from the outcome of the survey that each school has done.

Aim:
We want to create a picture of what motivates young people of Europe. This picture can help to learn why some young people choose to drop out of school before they graduate. It is a picture that can help us understand and give the schools an idea of what actions they should set in motion.

How:
Considering the results from the survey. Spend 3-4 minutes on each question, debating if something surprises you and if not, give your comments. (10 questions = 30-40 minutes).

After having discussed the survey, what can you make of conclusions?

Other things to talk about that you can prepare from home:

What does your school do on lack of motivations with students now?
What does your school do on students’ absence from classes
How can your school become better at focusing on motivation?
What can society do for students who drop out?

Motivation

CREATION OF QUESTIONS FOR A SURVEY ON MOTIVATION

We are going to make a survey that will reach out to hundreds of students in our 6 countries. The questions will give us a picture of how motivated young people are in the effort of getting an education. Also we would like to find out what it takes for them to get motivated. More and more students drop out of school and never get an education, or get it very late in life. What are the backgrounds for these drop-outs, how can we avoid it and how can students be motivated to stay in school. Does the social background play a role? Has economy anything to say? Where are the parents? Are young people today too lazy?

Create some questions that will help us get more informed on these matters…
