Mary Cowins and Dirki think that they are going to
Italy. They are having a cup of tea in the bar coach when Markus appears. ‘ Oh! It is a great surprise! ’ Mary Cowins says. What are you doing in the train to
Italy? Dirki asks.‘We are not going to Italy, we are going to
Spain. I am sorry but you are very kind and I want to go to
Spain with you’ Markus answers. And he tells them the joke.Mary Cowins and Dirki are a little angry, but when they arrive at Barcelona Station and take a taxi to visit the city, they get very happy because the city is wonderful and people are very friendly.
Two days later they are in a train to Italy. In their way to Italy they arrive at Lyon train Station, in
France. Mary Cowins and Dirki meet a rabbit called Markus. Markus is a very joker rabbit and tells them a lot of jokes while they are waiting for the train. He tells them that there are two ways in the railroad and they have to choose the way to Italy. Mary Cowins and Dirki ask Markus: ‘Do you want to come to
Italy with us?’‘I would like to go with you but I am on a trip to Spain’ says Markus. Markus changes the railroad signs because he wants them to go to Spain with them. Markus, Mary Cowins and Dirki say goodbye.
No, sir, I always walk like this.
Wife: “Don’t be silly. You have to go. I’ll give you two good reasons why.”
Man: “What are they?”
Wife: “One, you’re forty years old; and two, you’re the principal.”
Before leaving London they go to collect Dirki’s car. It’s already fixed so they can follow Universal Circus to Paris. Two days later they are on the show again. Everybody likes Mary Cowins and Dirki’s sketch. They soon become children’s favorite show.
Universal Circus is staying in Paris for ten days. Mary and Dirki go to visit Eiffel Tower and all the beautiful paintings at Louvre Museum. “Look, that’s Lady Gioconda”, says Dirki. “What’s she smiling at?”, asks Mary. “To my camera, of course”, says Dirki. “Oh, not a very clever joke, Mr. Leonardo da Vinci”, says Mary. “And just by the way, Italy is our next destination, isn’t it ?”
